here's my first thoughts on today's episode of MLP.
fair warning to those that haven't seen it yet, there's gonna be spoilers (I learned to put a warning after my last journal)
first, it's a christmas themed episode.
*In Markiplier's Santa Voice* it's not even Halloween! it's not time for me to come out of my cave
(I've wanted to do that for the longest time)
second, it's the second episode to mention that the Pies and Apples could be related, which is great to see honestly
thirdly, we get to see Pinkie's family!
my view on each member:
Igneous and Quartz remind me a lot of stereotypical amish farmers
Limestone is more snarky than my sister (which is saying something)
and Marble-from what I saw-seems to have Social Anxiety
and Maud is, well, Maud.
one thing I enjoyed with this episode though, is the interaction with each character. Ma and Pa Pie with Granny, Marble and Big Mac (I smell shipping) and Apple Bloom with Maud (I thought that was absolutely adorable!)
I also liked the moral this episode delivered as well: while people may share the same tradition as you, doesn't mean they do it the same way as you, as well as learning to understand other people's traditions, and helping them understand yours, all the while creating some new ones. that is what makes this episode amazing.
though, I couldn't help but laugh at the opening scene with Twilight and Spike. should've suspected that Twilight would get Spike nothing but books for Hearth's warming, though it is cute to see their tradition being to open presents of the eve instead of the actual day. kinda reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes in a way. oh well,
now, next week, the Nightmare Night episode is coming on Halloween, and I cannot wait!
